De Vilmont

François Alphonse Donatien De Vilmont, Marquis of San Crevés, AAA French aristocrat who lived in Bourbon France and famous officer of the Royal Guards on horseback of Louis XVI and later of the revolutionary army. It is said that in Valmy, the night following the battle against the Austro-Prussian armies, in the camp of the French hussars the noble De Vilmont, to uncork them, slashed the bottles of champagne as he had done with the enemy squadrons. This champagne was named after this legendary character, guillotined during the period of "terror", in honor of the great victory achieved. Rare and unrepeatable wines, like the companies they inspire, the Champagne De Vilmont come to life in the terroir of the renowned AOC area: in the splendid setting of Rilly La Montagne, a few kilometers from the renowned Reims, where the luxuriant champagne vineyards cover the sides of the surrounding green hills.
