Domaine Jean Chauvenet
"Our mission is to express the finesse and freshness of Pinot Noir and its subtle aromas."
Domaine Jean Chauvenet embodies the very idea of a Burgundian family estate: a small area (9 hectares), numerous appellations (8) in the most famous of Burgundy's Côtes de Nuits, with Pinot Noir as the sole varietal. This approach produces red wines with an incomparable texture, silky and refined. At the helm, Christophe Drag and his wife, Christine, work with a single principle: respecting the expression of each terroir to create distinctive wines. Certified HVE (High Environmental Value), the estate has practiced sustainable viticulture, a cultivation method that minimizes the use of pesticides, since 1994. Located in Nuits-Saint-Georges, a few meters from Vosne-Romanée, Domaine Jean Chauvenet extends across almost 9 hectares of vineyards, including five Premier Cru vineyards in Nuits-Saint-Georges. Two are located in the north and three in the south of the appellation, thus representing the full range of its flavors. The wines are neither clarified nor filtered to preserve the distinctive character of each terroir.
